The Big Day!

Ya' know. I thought I'd have more to write about on this day, but now that I'm here at the keyboard ... well - I just sit in awe of the entire event.

This past Saturday (October 21, 2006) our daughter was married! Yes, they're both very young. Yes, they're not financially prepared. Yes, they're not finished with degrees and yes, we've heard just about all of it from everyone. But, they might as well have been saying "yes, we have no bananas" because once you see the look the two of them share -- all is made whole.

How many of us were "too young" when we first fell into true love? How many of us lived on macaroni & cheese and raman noodles in the early years? How many of us are STILL struggling with an education? When all is said and done ... Love is All There Is! (hehe)

We've watched our daughter struggle with family conflicts, scheduling faux pas, trivial decisions made into holy wars, and financial hardships -- all centered around the wedding that just took place this past weekend, and she rose above it all, smiling and conquering even the most ridiculous because she realized their love was more important than all the Whoop-di-doo! We couldn't be prouder.

Through it all she picked her battles, letting others control what she felt was trivial -- decorations, the cake, guest lists, and traditions while putting her own special signature on the entire event. Case in point: when all was said and done, the traditions dispensed with and all the involved parties satisfied our daughter and her bridal party arrived in the boldest, blood-red, Harley Davidson edition stretch Escalade limousine, with a black roof and flames along side !! Ya' gotta love her!! (ha!)

Congratulations Tatiana & James. May your lives together be forever filled with love and excitement, respect and laughter, kindness, patience and love.

Special kisses and hugs to Jeffrey - who surprised us all by flying my sister up from South Carolina for the wedding. You are truly one of a kind.

I have SOOOOOOO many witty comments.

SOOOO OOOOO OOOOO many.

Instead I shall toast the happy couple with the cold glass of boxed wine that is in my hand, and wish like hell that you boys were here to drink with me. :)
